New season and Island Fame

New Season is the reset for the town you are standing in. Island Fame is what you are paid for the production that town has already done. They are one decision, shown together, and only when there is fame to claim.

Where the fame comes from

Eligible production in the current town builds a claim. Taking the claim pays Island Fame. Spending fame later does not shrink the production that was already counted, and it does not reduce the fame you have earned in the career. The next claim is what is still unpaid, not a fresh start from zero production.

The exact curve is a balance value. It is not published here, because copying it would go stale the next time the rate moves. The preview in the game is the number that applies to your save.

What the reset clears

  • Cash in that town.
  • The businesses you owned there, and the managers on them.
  • Seasonal cash upgrades on those businesses.
  • Temporary boosts and the short mood or weather windows tied to deals.

What it does not clear

  • Island Fame you hold, including the fame this season just paid.
  • Other towns you have already opened. They stay as they were.
  • Sun marks, clothes, emblems, and the rest of the inventory.
  • The industry. You are still in the one you started.
  • Proof that a town was built. A finished build proof is not wiped by the next season.

What held fame does

Fame you are holding raises profit. There is a separate set of fame upgrades you can buy. Buying one spends held fame. It does not delete the career total used for the map. If a purchase would not actually help, the game can show that before you confirm. You do not need a guide to overrule that preview.

Why the next town cares

The route’s later towns ask for career fame, which is fame earned in this industry. They also ask for a built town behind them. The first extra town is deliberately placed so that a first season happens before the map opens up. Running season after season on the starter, without building it, does not skip that requirement.

When you are ready, the game shows the gain and the losses for that town. If the gain is zero, New Season does not proceed. That is the whole test. There is no second, secret season currency.

Island league points do not come from the season itself. A finished ladder task or daily goal can score. Prestige, on its own, does not.
